Job description


Teen Challenge is seeking a compassionate and responsible individual to serve as Direct Care Staff at our Adolescent Boys Center. This position plays a vital role in providing supervision, structure, and spiritual guidance to teens enrolled in our Christ-centered recovery program. The ideal candidate will have a heart for youth ministry, be a positive role model, and support daily operations with a servant-minded attitude.
Goals of the Position:
To provide structure, care, and spiritual mentorship to adolescent students while assisting staff with daily operations in accordance with Teen Challenge policies and procedures.
Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a Christian discipleship program, preferably serving individuals with life-controlling problems
  • Experience working with adolescents strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well within a team and maintain a positive, flexible attitude
  • Must agree with and uphold the principles and philosophy of the Teen Challenge ministry
  • Must pass a background check

Responsibilities:
  • Support all staff in maintaining daily routines, structure, and supervision for adolescent students
  • Reinforce program rules and guidelines in a consistent, compassionate manner
  • Observe and report student behavior to appropriate staff for accountability and care
  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately
  • Assist with correspondence, reports, and maintaining student records as assigned
  • May serve in roles such as classroom assistant, chore supervisor, or other duties assigned by the Program Director
  • Schedule appointments and assist with the intake process and student applications
  • Provide mentorship and serve as a spiritual role model, helping foster a Christ-centered environment
  • Encourage students through prayer, conversations, and participation in spiritual activities
  • Help maintain a safe, respectful, and homelike atmosphere through example and guidance
