Job description

Iron Oak Energy is looking for a dynamic Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at its Vest & El Dorado locations. As a Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will maintain, diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, such as front-end loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, plant trucks, etc. This position is on a 7 days on 7 days off rotation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty equipment & vehicles. Warren Cat, Komatsu.
  • Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment.
  • Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts.
  • Repairing damaged equipment parts.
  • Performing major repair work as needed.
  • Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
  • Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management.
  • Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, Etc.) accurately and timely.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain Inventory on hand for PM's and known wear items.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be able to wear a respirator and other required personal protective equipment.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Proven work experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic
  • Certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or AA in Applied Diesel Technology, preferred.
  • Knowledge of database software, internet software, & manufacture software. Warren Cat, Komatsu.
  • Proficient use of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment.
  • Product knowledge of gas, diesel, electrical, electronic, and mechanical components.
  • Basic welding and cutting knowledge.
  • Able to Operate and diagnose Heavy Equipment.
  • Knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
