The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is accepting applications for a full-time Outreach Specialist. The Outreach Specialist supports the coordination of the Highway Technician Certification Program (HTCP), working collaboratively with various departments, state agencies, and the general public. It also serves as the primary point of contact for the program, handling inquiries, providing troubleshooting assistance, and ensuring smooth communication and operations.
This is a full-time, benefit and paid leave eligible position with a starting salary of $47,000 commensurate with experience.

Key Job Responsibilities:


Customer Support & Registration Coordination

  • Primary point of contact for program in handling inquiries (phone, email, in-person, etc.), phone registrations/payments, and providing troubleshooting assistance statewide inclusive of program inquiries and troubleshooting customer login/authenticator questions.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance standards for credit card transactions and complete annual program certification
  • Handle procurement and office management supply

Salesforce Administration

  • Serve as the program's Salesforce superuser, supporting data accuracy, reporting, and system functionality.
  • Provide customer service to HTCP clients and support staff on troubleshooting inquiries

Financial Reconciliation & Deposit Management

  • Including management of travel expense reporting

Event Program Coordination

  • Provide support to program instructional staff, HTCP internal staff, and program subject matter experts.
  • Plan and oversee HTCP events

Program Reporting

  • Generate required reports for WisDOT, and other requestors

Instructor Contract & HR Liaison

  • Act as contract development coordinator for over 50 HTCP instructional staff and subject matter experts within the Salesforce.
  • Coordinate new hire setup with Human Resources
  • Manage exam coordinator and proctoring
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in administrative support, program coordination, or customer service in a professional office setting.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate professionally with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Highly organized with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with attention to detail

  • Commitment to promoting an inclusive, customer-focused, and collaborative work environment.

  • Demonstrated experience with registration systems, customer service platforms (e.g. Salesforce), or learning management systems (e.g. Canvas) with the ability to troubleshoot.

  • Experience handling financial transactions, including credit card processing and reconciliation

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Experience with event planning or coordination

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
