Job description

JOB LOCATION: Fossil Rock

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

Safely and efficiently perform all underground and surface maintenance activities as directed

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Support the safety and health goals and objectives of Canyon Fuel Company, LLC.

Perform maintenance tasks as assigned in manner that maximizes safety and efficiency

Comply with Federal and State regulations

Work effectively with peers and supervisors

Effective communications (oral and written)

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds frequently

Ability to traverse uneven surfaces, work overhead, climb and use hand tools on regular intervals

Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays as needed

Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling and extending

Ability to work in damp, and somewhat dark environment associated with an underground coal mine

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Industrial/mining maintenance experience preferred
  • Ability to comprehend equipment schematics, blueprints
  • Technical degree will be considered a plus
  • MSHA low, medium and high voltage electrical certification of the ability to obtain
  • Proficient use of hand tools associated with maintenance activities
