ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Night Maitenance Mechanic to support operations at the Quarry located in Rockville, MD. The primary responsibility of a Maintenance Mechanic at a quarry in the aggregate industry is to inspect, repair, and maintain heavy equipment and plant machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production operations continuous production operations.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Equipment Repair and Maintenance: Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps, and other plant machinery to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled servicing on mobile and stationary equipment, including oil changes, belt adjustments, and component replacements.
  • Welding and Fabrication: Weld, cut, and fabricate parts and structures as needed to repair or improve plant and equipment components.
  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems: Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulic and air systems on heavy equipment and plant machinery.
  • Install and Align Equipment: Set up, align, and adjust motors, bearings, gearboxes, and conveyor systems for proper operation.
  • Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety checks on machinery and report hazards or needed repairs to supervisors.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and part usage logs.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Required Work Experience: Experience in Quarry or Industrial Settings
  • Mechanical Knowledge: Strong understanding of heavy equipment and plant systems, including crushers, conveyors, and screening plants.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to quickly diagnose and fix mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime.
  • Welding and Fabrication Ability: Skilled in welding, cutting, and fabricating metal parts for equipment repairs or modifications.
  • Safety Awareness: Committed to following all safety rules and maintaining a safe work environment around heavy machinery.
  • Prior hands-on experience maintaining and repairing equipment in a quarry, mining, or industrial environment.
