Martin Marietta is currently seeking an Area Production Manager based in Bowling Green, KY or Nashville, TN. This position provides operational leadership for seven limestone quarries and two aggregate yards across Kentucky and the Nashville, Tennessee market.

The Area Production Manager is responsible for driving safe, efficient, and profitable operations across the area while developing strong site leadership teams and ensuring consistent execution of Martin Marietta's operational standards. This role works closely with Sales, Safety, Engineering, Human Resources, and other functional teams to support business performance and long-term growth.

Martin Marietta's Kentucky and Tennessee operations provide the essential raw materials used to build and maintain the region's roads, bridges, commercial developments, and communities. Through a network of limestone quarries, aggregate yards, and processing facilities, the company produces high-quality construction materials while maintaining a strong focus on safety, environmental stewardship, operational excellence, and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for seven limestone quarries and two aggregate yards across Kentucky and the Nashville area.
  • Drive operational, safety, and financial performance through disciplined execution and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, MSHA, environmental, and Martin Marietta policies and standards through regular site engagement and inspections.
  • Lead, coach, and develop plant managers and other operational leaders while building a strong pipeline of future leadership talent.
  • Manage production operations to maximize plant efficiency, reliability, product quality, and cost performance.
  • Partner closely with Sales and Dispatch to align production with customer demand, maintain product availability, exceed customer expectations, and maximize profitability.
  • Assist in developing and executing annual operating plans, production forecasts, budgets, and capital priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, equipment utilization, maintenance practices, and overall operating performance.
  • Recommend career development, training, and succession opportunities for direct reports and other key operational employees.
  • Oversee the purchase and utilization of supplies, services, and equipment in accordance with company policies.
  • Support capital projects and other strategic initiatives across the area.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mining, Business, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in mining, aggregates, heavy industrial operations, construction materials, or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple operations, teams, or complex business units preferred.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.

Work Environment

This position operates in both office and surface mining environments and requires frequent presence at operating locations. The role routinely uses standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and copiers, and regularly works around heavy equipment and aggregate processing operations.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time leadership position that may regularly require extended hours and occasional weekend work. Regular travel between operations throughout Kentucky and the Nashville area is required, with occasional overnight travel.
