Il sera responsable de la supervision et de la gestion des projets d'ingenierie structurale; Cela comprend la conception structurale, l'enquete, la gestion des budgets et des echeanciers des projets, ainsi que la preparation de rapports techniques. En quoi consiste ce role? Responsabilites principals : 

• Diriger l'elaboration de conceptions de structures et de beton en assurant la conformite aux codes et aux normes de l'industrie pertinents. 

• Diriger les etudes conceptuelles, y compris l'estimation des quantites et les conceptions preliminaires 

• Effectuer une conception detaillee du beton et de l'acier, y compris l'interaction avec les dessinateurs pour produire des modeles et de la documentation conformes a la conformite a l'assurance de la qualite 

• Aider avec les demandes de construction, y compris le levage et le montage securitaires 

• Interface avec d'autres disciplines du genie, y compris l'electricite, les procedes et la mecanique 

• Accent mis sur l'innovation technique et l'amelioration continue 

• Fournir des conseils et du mentorat aux ingenieurs juniors

Que recherchons-nous chez notre futur membre de l'equipe? Qualifications requises : 

• Baccalaureat en genie des structures

• Membre de l'ordre des ingenieurs du Quebec de l'Ordre. Ingenieur au Quebec);   

• 15 ans d'experience en genie des structures, dont au moins 5 ans dans un role de direction ou de direction

• Bonne comprehension de la conception de l'acier et du beton pour les structures industrielles lourdes. 

• Connaissances et experience solides demontrees dans les environnements de conception, de consultation et d'exploitation 

• Une experience anterieure dans l'industrie miniere ou metallurgique est fortement recherchee 

• Capacite d'autogerer le temps, les priorites et les activites de maniere securitaire et efficace. 

• Competences en communication et en negociation bien developpees 

• Une experience du code du batiment canadien dans toutes les provinces est souhaitable 

• Doit etre admissible a travailler au Canada sans parrainage

• Excellente maitrise du francais parle et ecrit. Une bonne maitrise de l'anglais parle est requise en raison des contacts quotidiens avec des clients, fournisseurs, partenaires et collegues bases hors du Quebec.

Sedgman Novopro Ltd is currently looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Montreal, Quebec. He/she will be responsible for leading and providing technical support on structural engineering projects; this includes conducting structural design, investigation, managing project budgets and schedules, as well as preparing technical reports. The ideal incumbent will be a mentor and coach to a young and enthusiastic team. 

Sedgman is a consulting engineering company in the mining space and is currently experiencing a rapid expansion of the Montreal office; they are positioned for growth, and this role is business critical within the organization.

What does this role involve? Main Responsibilities: 

• Lead project development of structural and concrete designs ensuring compliance with relevant codes, industry standards. 

• Lead concept studies, including estimating quantities and preliminary designs 

• Perform detailed concrete and steel design, including interaction with Drafters to produce models and documentation in line with QA Compliance 

• Assist with construction enquiries, including safe lifting and erection 

• Interface with other Engineering disciplines, including Electrical, Process and Mechanical 

• Focus on technical innovation and continuous improvement 

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers

What are we looking for in our future team member? Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering

• Member of the ordre des ingenieurs du Quebec OIQ (Professional. Engineer in Quebec);   

• 15+ years of structural engineering experience, with at least 5 in years in a lead or senior role

• Strong understanding of steel and concrete design for heavy industrial structures. 

• Demonstrated sound knowledge and experience in design/consultancy/operational environments 

• Previous mining or metals industry experience is highly desired 

• Ability to safely and effectively self-manage time, priorities and activities 

• Well-developed communication and negotiation skills 

• Experience with Canadian building code across the provinces is desirable 

• Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship

• Language requirements: excellent spoken and written French. Strong

  spoken English skills are required due to daily contact with clients, suppliers, partners, and colleagues based outside Quebec.
