What is a minimum wage job?

Minimum wage jobs are positions that pay employees the lowest hourly rate allowed by law in a particular area. These roles are often found in industries such as retail, hospitality, food service, and some entry-level administrative positions. Workers in minimum wage jobs typically perform tasks that require little formal education or specialized training. The minimum wage rate is set by federal, state, or local governments and can vary depending on location. These jobs can provide valuable work experience and are often a starting point for young or entry-level workers.

To excel in a minimum wage position, you generally need reliability, a strong work ethic, and basic literacy or numeracy skills, with minimal formal qualifications required.
