POSITION STATEMENT:

Our Shuttle Ambassadors are safety-focused drivers who provide reliable transportation while making passengers feel welcome and comfortable. As a VCU Shuttle Ambassador, your primary responsibility is transporting students along designated RamRide and RamSafe routes, ensuring safe, timely, and smooth service across campus. Shuttle Ambassadors are also responsible for completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are clean, safe, and ready for service.
Shifts Available:
  • Monday-Friday | 2:30 PM - 12:30 AM
  • Monday-Friday | 11:30 AM - 8:30 PM
  • Monday-Friday | 3:30 AM - 12:30 PM
  • Monday-Friday | 4:30 PM - 1:00 AM
  • Sunday | 12:00 AM - 8:30 AM

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Safely drive and transport passengers along designated routes
  • Welcome and greet passengers in a professional and friendly manner
  • Assist passengers as needed during loading and unloading
  • Thank passengers for choosing RMA Worldwide
  • Follow DOT regulations and company safety standards where applicable
  • Maintain travel logs and fuel records
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and safety checks before and after each shift
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations teams
  • Support overall safety management and passenger service standards

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid CDL Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement and Air Brake Endorsement
  • Minimum of one year of passenger driving experience preferred
  • Valid DOT medical card
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with dispatch
  • Ability to attend routine compliance and customer service training
  • Professional appearance and customer-service mindset

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds when needed

Compensation & Sign-On Bonus
Eligible chauffeur positions at RMA (Black Car Chauffeurs, Motorcoach Operators, and Shuttle Ambassadors) offer a sign-on bonus:
  • Full-time positions: $1,200 sign-on bonus
  • Part-time positions: $600 sign-on bonus

Bonus eligibility begins after 90 days of continuous employment. Once eligible, bonuses are paid in equal monthly installments through payroll (12 installments for full-time, 6 installments for part-time). Employees must be actively employed and in good standing at the time each installment is paid. Any unpaid installments are forfeited upon separation of employment. This program supports retention and does not constitute guaranteed compensation.

The pay range for this role is:
24 - 26 USD per hour (RMA Richmond)
