Job description

As a Superintendent with Ledcor's Mining team, you will provide frontline leadership for largescale mining and earthworks operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and highquality execution across your assigned shift or area. You'll oversee mining crews and equipment fleets, coordinate daily production plans, monitor output, and ensure all activities align with mine plans, operating procedures, schedules, and cost objectives.
In this role, you'll be the onsite operational lead-driving production strategies, optimizing work methods, troubleshooting issues in the field, and supporting a productive, engaged workforce. You'll also foster strong working relationships with clients, mine engineers, maintenance teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and fellow site staff to maintain a collaborative, solutionsfocused work environment.

  • Supervise all aspects of mining and earthworks operations, ensuring compliance with mine plans, shift instructions, safety standards, and company policies

  • Maintain highquality operational performance while optimizing equipment utilization, labor efficiency, and material resources

  • Enforce site safety protocols that meet or exceed corporate, client, and regulatory mining requirements

  • Monitor, analyze, and update production schedules to meet daily, weekly, and longrange mine targets

  • Review supplier and subcontractor invoices for accuracy and report discrepancies

  • Hire, develop, and manage hourly minesite employees in coordination with the Project Manager

  • Prepare and process production changes, field adjustments, or scope modifications with client representatives as needed

  • Lead planning meetings with Maintenance and Operations teams to ensure equipment readiness, fleet availability, and operational continuity

Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of supervisory experience in mining operations or largescale earthworks, preferably in an active mine environment

  • Proven ability to manage production schedules and adjust plans based on changing ground, weather, or equipment conditions

  • Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to develop practical, safe solutions to complex operational challenges

  • Highly effective communicator who can tailor messaging to operators, engineers, clients, and leadership teams

  • Collaborative leader who builds teamwork, accountability, and a positive safety culture

  • Willingness to travel and remain on site for the duration of mine projects

Working Conditions:
  • Sitebased role

  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the position, including sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 75 pounds), and working in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, extreme cold)

  • Ability to work a nontraditional mining schedule, which may include nights, weekends, and rotational shifts
