Red Dog Operations is both the largest critical minerals mine in the United States and one of the largest zinc mines in the world. Role Overview

 Reporting to the General Supervisor, Airport & Surface, the Mine Clerk is accountable for inputting information into the computerized maintenance management system, travel system and payroll system; maintaining equipment files, provides document control, as well as providing general secretarial support to the Mill and Mine Departments. It is necessary to build positive workplace relationships with all supervisory personnel through interacting and providing guidance on data entry and time issues.

Rotation schedule will be 2 weeks on site with 2 weeks off site

Key Responsibilities

•    Maintain accurate timekeeping records for all non-exempt employees’ time including compiling information received from supervisors, inputting of time to appropriate work orders/charge codes, corrects entry errors and follows up on anomalies, preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports to identify discrepancies
•    Monitor People Central Time and support the Mine, Mill, and Services departments as needed to ensure all non-exempt time is entered and accurate in the system
•    Receive and input travel information to and from Site into the Travel System for all non-exempt employees.  When necessary, confirm questionable travel details with supervisor. Accurately review and remove names on daily flight manifests based on the travel requests submitted by Supervisors.  On occasion, post company accommodation roster to room forecast to keep accurate camp counts
•    Receive, input, and maintain safety team ideas, shift exchange forms, PTO forms, General Leave forms, and Special Travel Requests
•    Maintain and file equipment operation records such as Walk Arounds be scanned to apply online filing system, MWO’s (maintenance work orders), timesheets, and other reference documents and provides overall document control
•    Provide clerical and administrative services for Mine, Mill and Services departments as required including but not limited to: typing a variety of correspondence, reports, memorandums, notices, etc. from a variety of source documents or handwritten notes, maintaining stationary supplies, booklet binding, photocopying, creating mailing labels, etc.
•    Provide switchboard duties to HR, Mine, Mill and Services departments through answering incoming calls to the property and forwarding to the appropriate extension
•    Distribute incoming and outgoing mail
•    On occasion, assists with packing rooms for employees that have left the property to ensure employees receive their personal belongings in a timely manner
•    Assist other departments with clerical overflow as required
•    Maintain and input Workplace Inspection Forms (WPIF) and/or Workplace Examination (WPE) into Excel spreadsheet and hand back to Mill Ops General Foremen.
•    Maintain and archive water treatment records from mill operations
•    Coordinate and administer locker assignments across mill departments, ensuring appropriate accommodations for male and female employees
•    Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

•    High school diploma or equivalent
•    Entry level clerical position, requiring some exposure to various office practices
•    Excellent writing, editing, communication, organization and interpersonal and customer service skills required
•    Able to handle high level of confidentiality and common sense regarding employee information
•    Proficient and demonstrate experience with administrative software applications (Word, PowerPoint, etc )  
•    Able to work independently and provide excellent customer service
•    Basic knowledge of administering clerical office practices and procedures highly desirable
