Class D Security License Required

Compensation Rate:$18.00/hr

What you get to do:

As a Security Officer, you'll be committed to ensuring the highest level of guest safety, security, and satisfaction. Your professional demeanor and reassuring presence will provide guests and Ambassadors with the peace of mind that enhances their overall park experience. You will:

  • Respond quickly and appropriately to calls for service and security/safety issues

  • Patrol by foot/vehicle to protect park guests and park property from security/safety risks

  • Assist law enforcement officers when necessary

  • Perform roving patrols of all park property, including buildings, vehicles, animals, etc.

  • Interact with guests and Ambassadors to create a safe and secure environment

  • Investigate incidents and complete incident reports

  • Inspect bags and entering/exiting vehicles to prevent theft or the introduction of contraband

  • Conduct access control for all vehicles and employees to ensure proper authorization

  • Operate mobile and static posts

  • Maintain logs

  • Issue/receive keys and validate IDs for access


What it takes to succeed:

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

  • Have a Class D security license

  • Valid Driver's License required

  • Ability to work weekends (required) and holidays

  • Shifts: 1st Shift (12:00am - 8:30am); 2nd Shift (8:00am - 4:30pm); 3rd Shift (4:00pm - 12:30am)

  • Adventure Island (Based on park operating hours) Metal (Based on park operating hours)

  • Willingness to carry and use defensive weapons (e.g., handcuffs and Oleoresin Capsicum spray)

  • Mental, emotional, and physical competencies needed to learn and apply the SeaWorld Use of Force Response Options and OC spray policies

  • Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred

  • Knowledge of common safety/security practices

  • Ability to define problems, collect accurate data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and determine a proper course of action

  • Ability to lift, push, pull 50 lbs

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions

  • Ability to bend, stoop, and climb stairs to reasonable heights

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time

  • Be able to pass required CPR/First Aid course
