The Repair Technician 2 will perform repair and/or service work of Company products in accordance with prescribed procedures. The job requires using a variety of hand tools and small power tools to take apart and repair the customer tools. Each repair tech has a computer to review Tool Service Bulletins, pack out instructions for reconditioned tools and parts or tools collected for Quality Engineering.

You will provide the best possible end-user experience through these duties and responsibilities:
  • Work safely and intentionally during all aspects of job including proper PPE and situational awareness.
  • Read and comprehend repair order information and parts schematics.
  • Complete the information on the repair order form including the utilization of technician notes.
  • Perform necessary repairs that might include disassembly of units, diagnosis of operating difficulty, location and replacement of worn or defective parts within times in accordance with work instructions.
  • Make decisions surrounding the repair of the tool based on TSB's, work instructions, and playbooks.
  • Keep records of parts used and provide data for billing and/or warranty information and utilize tech notes.
  • Recognize and report operational irregularities and defective materials.
  • Set up and perform electrical, mechanical, and functional tests to ensure tool repair and/or work performed is in accordance with prescribed quality standards.
  • Work from parts sheets, specifications, and drawings.
  • Under supervision make recommendations as to warranty liability and any unusual repair problems.
  • Work is subject to in-process and final inspection.
  • Responsible for quality of work, safety and housekeeping in assigned area.
  • Be a Milwaukee Tool culture champion by handling tasks as assigned, including working on different processes and departments as needed.

The TOOLS you'll bring with you: '
  • Requires an education equivalent to high school diploma or GED
  • Must have mechanical skills and diagnostic skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Basic computer and writing skills
  • 3 months or more previous experience in Repair/Recondition meeting established goals for production, quality, and attendance.
  • Fluency in English with strong communication skills, written and oral

Internal Qualifications
  • No final warnings
  • No more than 5.75 attendance points
  • Efficiency and Quality goal met for previous 3 months
  • Must be in current role for 6+ months
  • Must meet all job description requirements.

  • Standing for long periods of time

  • Frequent bending, stooping, pushing and pulling of parts and containers
  • Able to work in various temperature conditions
