Job description

The Kelly Group is seeking an Industrial Plant Maintenance Worker for its Decatur, Illinois, location and work in the surrounding area. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of plant maintenance experience in a grain handling and/or processing environment.

This position requires the ability to perform these essential duties:

  • Perform equipment maintenance on various types of mechanical equipment, including belt conveyors, bucket elevators, drag chains, grain cleaners, screw conveyors, etc.
  • Show familiarity with different types of bearings and setting tolerances and taper locks
  • Perform rigging and hoisting to properly move materials via the use of cranes and/or hand signaling to an operator
  • Perform and demonstrate the ability to complete work using safe work practices
  • Dismantling / installation of machines, structures and equipment using appropriate tools

Additional desired qualifications sought include:

  • Capable of performing welding (SMAW) work and using a torch
  • Ability to fabricate iron
  • Plant and preventive maintenance experience
  • Industrial construction experience
  • Ability to align shafts utilizing a laser alignment tool
  • Ability to perform belt splicing and maintenance for conveyors and bucket elevators
