Job description

Boise Cascade is seeking an accomplished Maintenance/Reliability Manager to lead the maintenance teams at our Plywood manufacturing facilities in Medford, Oregon. About the Role:
As Maintenance/Reliability Manager, you'll provide strategic and hands-on leadership to all maintenance functions-driving operational efficiency by developing maintenance strategies and leading reliability initiatives including equipment reliability, operational uptime, analyzing performance data, and team engagement. You'll champion Boise Cascade's Core Values: Integrity, Safety, Respect, and Excellence, while shaping a culture centered on safety, continuous improvement, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a multi-skilled team (millwrights, electricians, mechanics, technicians) to achieve optimal plant performance and reliability.
  • Oversee and prioritize all aspects of mechanical and electrical maintenance, including shutdowns, equipment upgrades, predictive and preventative maintenance, and process improvements.
  • Champion reliability-centered maintenance strategies that reduce unplanned downtime and extend asset life.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and environmental teams to drive plant efficiency, safety, and compliance.
  • Manage project construction, vendor coordination, new equipment installations, and continuous process upgrades.
  • Standardize parts and procedures, implement training, and stay current on technology advancements for enhanced reliability.
  • Monitor costs, maintain budgets, and ensure all projects and repairs meet required timelines and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring (minimum education and experience):
  • BS degree in Engineering, Science, or related field preferred.
  • Seven (7)+ years' maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with three (3)+ years in a supervisory role strongly preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience in manufacturing maintenance-preferably in wood products or related industries.
  • Demonstrated success in building and sustaining reliability-focused maintenance programs.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of preventative maintenance, OSHA/plant safety, and regulatory compliance.
