Company Overview

Paragon Store Fixtures is a leader in high-end, custom retail environments and millwork. Based in our Big Lake, MN facility, we specialize in turning architectural visions into reality for premier global brands. We are seeking a dedicated Drafter to join our engineering team and work directly under the mentorship of a Senior Designer.


Role Summary

In this role, you will act as the right hand to our senior design staff, translating architectural intent into precise manufacturing drawings. This is a high-growth position intended for a detail-oriented individual who is already proficient in Autodesk Inventor but is eager to master the nuances of custom millwork and production engineering.


Key Responsibilities

-3D Modeling: Utilize Autodesk Inventor to create detailed models of custom fixtures, cabinetry, and specialized retail components.

-Blueprint Interpretation: Review and interpret architectural drawings, ensuring that design intent is accurately captured in production blueprints.

-Mentorship & Learning: Work closely with a Senior Designer to absorb best practices, learn company-specific standards, and refine your technical drafting skills.

-Shop Drawings: Produce comprehensive 2D shop drawings, including sections, plan views, and assembly details for use on the production floor

-Technical Collaboration: Listen to feedback from the manufacturing team and senior staff to make real-time adjustments and improvements to designs.


Qualifications & Requirements

-Technical Proficiency: Must be fluent in Autodesk Inventor. Experience with AutoCAD is also highly beneficial.

-Reading Plans: Demonstrated ability to read and understand complex architectural drawings and specifications.

-Growth Mindset: A strong willingness to listen, learn, and adapt to established engineering workflows and millwork standards.

-On-site Presence: This is an on-site position at our Big Lake, MN facility to allow for direct collaboration with the design and production teams.

-Education: Associate degree in CAD/Drafting, Wood Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.


Preferred Skills

Exposure to Woodwork for Inventor (W4I) or similar wood-specific plugins.

Fundamental understanding of wood species, joinery, and hardware integration.

Basic knowledge of PDM systems (like Autodesk Vault) for file management.
