Job Summary

South Shore Millwork is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Architectural Millwork Molder Operator to operate and maintain a Weinig 6-Head Molder in our custom millwork facility in Norton, MA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural woodwork, precision machining, and quality craftsmanship to produce high-end moldings, profiles, and custom millwork components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and adjust a Weinig 6-head molder for production runs
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, profiles, and work orders
  • Select, install, and align cutter heads and tooling to meet specifications
  • Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout production
  • Perform routine maintenance, blade changes, and troubleshooting
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy, finish, and consistency
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and deadlines

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience preferred but willing to train
  • Strong understanding of architectural millwork and custom profiles
  • Ability to read blueprints, CAD drawings, and profile templates
  • Knowledge of cutter head setup, tooling, feed speeds, and material handling
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in high-end architectural or custom millwork shops
  • Familiarity with hardwoods, softwoods, and composite materials
  • Preventative maintenance and troubleshooting experience
