 Four Daughters Millwork is seeking a skilled Estimator to support our pre-construction efforts for high-end architectural millwork projects throughout NYC. This role is responsible for preparing accurate takeoffs, analyzing drawings and specifications, and developing competitive cost proposals for custom fabrication work.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review architectural drawings, millwork details, and bid documents
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for cabinetry, wood paneling, furniture, hardware, and finishes
  • Prepare detailed labor and material cost estimates
  • Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors
  • Identify scope gaps, risks, and potential change orders
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Drafting Engineers, and Production teams
  • Support design-assist and design-build budgeting efforts
  • Attend occasional pre-bid meetings or site visits
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of estimating experience in architectural millwork, cabinetry, specialty trades, or commercial construction
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar estimating tools
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred:
Experience with union labor, prevailing wage projects, LEED/FSC documentation, or custom fabrication environments.
