Job description

Commercial Finish Carpenter

Desco Professional Builders, Inc.
Ellington, CT

Desco Professional Builders is seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Finish Carpenter to join our growing construction team. We are looking for individuals with experience ranging from rough framing through finish carpentry, capable of working on a variety of commercial construction and millwork installation projects throughout New England.

This position involves all aspects of commercial carpentry including metal stud framing, drywall backing, finish trim, cabinetry and casework installation, doors/hardware, punch work, and detailed finish carpentry.

Responsibilities
  • Perform commercial carpentry work from framing through finish
  • Install trim, doors, hardware, cabinetry, countertops, and architectural millwork
  • Metal stud framing and light drywall work
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Utilize project management software including Procore for drawings, project communication, and documentation
  • Work independently and alongside project superintendents and field teams
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas
  • Assist with punch list completion and quality control efforts
  • Travel to project sites throughout the region as needed
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of commercial carpentry experience preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction documents
  • Experience with finish carpentry and installation work
  • Knowledge of metal stud framing and commercial construction methods
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and jobsite safety practices
  • Experience using tablets/mobile devices on construction sites preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift materials and perform physical work in active construction environments
