Job description

Fairfield County Millwork is a Bethany, CT architectural millwork company specializing in high-end custom residential work throughout Connecticut, New York, Nantucket, and the Northeast.

We are seeking an experienced Millwork Estimator for a full-time, in-person position. The ideal candidate understands custom architectural millwork, can produce accurate and well-scoped estimates, and communicates confidently with builders, architects, designers, and customers.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings and specifications, preparing takeoffs and labor/material estimates, obtaining vendor pricing, identifying scope gaps and constructability issues, developing alternates and exclusions, pricing change orders, and coordinating estimate handoffs with project management, drafting, purchasing, and shop leadership.

We are looking for 8+ years of estimating experience, preferably in architectural millwork, custom cabinetry, luxury residential construction, specialty interiors, or finish carpentry. Candidates should be comfortable interpreting architectural and shop drawings and have a practical understanding of cabinetry, veneers, hardwoods, panels, running trim, hardware, finishing, installation, and field conditions.

Excel and digital takeoff proficiency required. Experience with ProjectPAK, Bluebeam, or PlanSwift is a plus.

The right candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, collaborative, and able to understand not only how to price the work, but how it will actually be built.

Compensation is competitive and based on experience.
