Job description

PARR is the total source for homebuilding supplies, solutions, and services. We focus on supplying building materials and solutions to professional home builders of all sizes including custom builders, large production builders, and multifamily builders. Job title: Driver Millworks
Pay: $24.38 - $28.85
Schedule: Monday-Friday 6am to 2:30pm, or until all loads for the day have been delivered.
Location: Tualatin, OR
At PARR, our Drivers are essential to fulfilling the needs of our customers by making sure they are receiving their orders on-time and in great condition. The ideal driver is someone driven to maintain safety regulations and above and beyond customer service.
Depending on the location, the Millworks Driver reports directly to the General Manager, Production Manager, or Shop Foreman and interacts daily with customers, dispatchers, receivers, and load-builders.

Qualifications

  • Class C Driver's License and must have and maintain a good driving record required
  • Must be 21 years old or over
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English required
  • Current DOT Medical Card or must obtain DOT medical card as condition of employment
  • Knowledge of vehicle safety audits and reports of any malfunctioning equipment as required by Federal and State regulations and company policy
  • Open and transparent communication
  • Familiarity with GPS devices or map applications
  • Driving experience within 50-mile radius of primary location preferred

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently load and unload building materials from commercial motor vehicle
  • Legally, safely, and efficiently travel to destinations through public and private roads
  • Complete mileage and fuel usage reports
  • Demonstrates commitment to on-time and in-full deliveries
  • Follow delivery procedures by taking photos of the delivered shipment after completing each delivery
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of all equipment
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers, contractors, and vendors
  • Perform required safety audit of vehicle (daily safety audits, weekly brake inspections) and promptly report any malfunctioning equipment as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
  • Promptly report all accidents/incidents
  • Annually update driver's qualification file as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
  • Maintain yard, warehouse, and vehicle cleanliness during the course of work
  • Finds productive work to do in downtime
  • Keeps truck supplied, organized, and clean
  • Comes to work professionally attired
  • Checks load for accuracy
  • Proactively manages job site conditions for the next delivery and communicates with others
  • Always provides required paperwork and scanning for dispatch

This position will be working at a millworks facility and delivering to jobsites in all weather conditions.

  • Must be able to lift up to 90 lbs.
