Pay: $19.44-$21.53 hourly
A Delivery Assistant is responsible for assisting the Delivery Driver in the movement of product from the main warehouse to the delivery site while acting in a safe and professional manner. The ideal Delivery Assistant is driven to maintain safety regulations and above and beyond customer service.
Depending on the location, the Delivery Assistant reports directly to the General Manager, Production Manager, or Shop Foreman and interacts daily with customers, drivers, dispatchers, receivers, and load-builders.
Duties and Responsibilities- Safely and efficiently load and unload building materials from commercial motor vehicle
- Legally, safely, and efficiently travel to destinations through public and private roads
- Complete mileage and fuel usage reports
- Demonstrates commitment to on time and in full deliveries
- Follow delivery procedures by taking photos of delivered shipment after completing each delivery
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers, contractors, and vendors
- Maintain yard, warehouse, and vehicle cleanliness during course of work
- Finds productive work to do in down time
- Keeps truck supplied, organized, and clean
- Comes to work professionally attired
- Checks load for accuracy
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Open and transparent communication
- Familiarity with GPS devices or map applications
- Able to read a tape measure
- Knowledge of building materials
- Ability to speak, write, and read English required
- Shoes that are puncture resistant, slip resistant, made of leather or composite material, and have ankle support required

- Must maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all information related to company finances and records, particularly, cost of goods purchased and sold

Working ConditionsThis position will be working at a millworks facility and make deliveries at jobsites in all weather conditions.
