Job description

For our state-of-the art 600+ person Lubbock, TX cheese and whey manufacturing facility, Leprino is seeking a L1 Cheese Sanitation Team Member (nights).
Summary Description:
This position performs a variety of duties. The Cheese Sanitation Team Member II will perform dry and wet cleaning tasks in all production work areas and be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the facility in alignment with GMP's.
All other duties as assigned.
Job Duties (Accountability Categories and Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities): NOTE: The job may include other "non-essential" responsibilities and duties that are not listed on this form.
  • Clean/Sanitize all drains in Milk Receiving, Chemical Bulk, Starter Rooms, Standardization Room, Mega CIP room, VAT Rooms, Lena Room, GRD Room, Ingredient Staging area (in front of HAF/Salt),
  • Issue Chemical Carts to each room (includes refilling chemicals)
  • Clean/Sanitize/Stock Main Redline Room, Milk receiving Redline Room
  • Stock GMP supplies in stainless steel cabinet for Main Redline Room
  • Clean/Sanitize Shoe grippers for Main Redline Room
  • Collect and throw trash from all trash bins in Cheese Department
  • Clean trash bins weekly
  • Clean and stock hand washing sinks in all rooms for Cheese Department
  • Foam and Sanitize Mega CIP Room
  • Clean/Sanitize/Stock, HAF/Salt Room handwashing area
  • Remove chemical carts from each room (Chemical carts must be out during production)
  • Clean/Sanitize/Stock handwashing area in milk receiving
  • Stock PPE and Gloves Carts
  • Clean Supervisor office area, remove garbage (weekly mopping with multi-quat sanitizer)
  • Check salt silo level
  • Check/Fill Dixichlor Max Totes in Milk Receiving, Chemical Bulk Room, Maintenance, Mega CIP, Nutrition
  • Inspect and Clean Mega CIP room CIP filters (this will need training)
  • Responsible for the receiving of the HEX ingredient
  • Responsible for CIP of the receiving lines and HEX silos
  • Responsible for receiving all bulk chemicals, utilizing the Opti-lock system
  • Responsible for receiving salt
  • Responsible for transferring chemical totes from warehouse to chemical bulk after warehouse receives packaged chemicals
  • Run Zamboni through main corridor up until nutrition, this includes spraying down multi quat sanitizer
  • Other jobs assigned by management
  • Perform work in a safe manner by following safety procedures and policies, critical safety rules, and expected standard conduct.
  • This position is responsible and accountable to ensure all areas are maintained to comply with food safety, regulatory, and quality requirements by following the Food Safety Plan, Quality Plan, and company policies.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend basic English language
  • Ability to evaluate and identify mechanical conditions and make adjustments or corrective action as necessary
  • Ability to access elevated work areas such as climbing ladders/stairs
  • Basic math skills to be able to perform mathematical functions
  • Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures
  • Ability to maintain clean work area according to good manufacturing processes
  • Good communication skills to communicate with co-workers and oncoming/outgoing shifts
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and wear chemical PPE

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
Previous cleaning experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Work Environment Description:
  • This position will be exposed to a an office environment with inside ambient temperatures and a production operations environment including both wet and dry production areas with loud noise and varying degrees of temperature from freezer to extreme heat
  • Requires frequent walking, standing and climbing stairs
  • Regular bending and reaching
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Additional:
This position requires the incumbent to work on site at the facility to be able to perform the associated job responsibilities.
