Phone Technician

Make meaningful contributions that fuel critical outcomes for some of the most complex government, defense, and intelligence projects. Join GDIT as a Telecommunications Technician III for a career where your growth is just as important as the mission you support.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Phone Technician, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission at the Joint Service Provider Enterprise Transport Management - Next-Gen (JSP ETM - NG) program at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot phones and network connectivity for customers in the National Capital Region (NCR).

  • Meet clients with professional demeanor

  • Plans network installations by using manuals and technical specification

  • Documents adds, moves, and changes to system configuration using client documentation standards

  • Terminate and test new cables to ensure that they are properly incorporated into the system and are in good working order

  • Test circuits and components to isolate malfunctioning systems by using test meters

  • Configure and deploy phones

  • Meet with clients to assist with customer's training and configuration preferences for end devices

  • Work with Remedy Ticketing System to track adds, moves, and changes

  • Receive Equipment/Material delivered for our VoIP Team and Engineers

  • Go to Client Warehouse to stage Equipment/Material stored and ready it for delivery

  • Install phone firmware

  • Inventory Voice Team supplies

  • Receive bad phones from customers from different location, return to warehouse and ready them for return

  • Transports equipment between warehouse and customer site

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your telecommunications expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Phone Technician must have:

  • Education: Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, OR the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience.

  • Experience: 3+ years of related experience

  • Technical skills:

  • Security clearance level: Active Secret Clearance

  • Role requirements: Experience with industry standard Voice over IP (VOIP), ISDN, and Analog phone installation

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $33.97 - $41.47. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
