Job description

The Scheduler Support position provides operational scheduling support for flying, simulator, and academic training activities within a squadron operations environment. The individual will coordinate with Operations, Training, Aviation Resource Management (ARM), Maintenance, Wing Scheduling, and other stakeholders to develop and maintain schedules that support mission readiness, qualification, upgrade, and continuation training requirements.
This position operates in a dynamic environment where schedules routinely change due to aircraft availability, maintenance requirements, weather, deployments, medical appointments, aircrew currencies, and operational priorities. The successful candidate must be able to adapt quickly, manage competing requirements, and maintain accurate scheduling data while supporting mission execution.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain long-range, weekly, and daily flying, simulator, and academic training schedules.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Training, Aviation Resource Management (ARM), Maintenance, Wing Scheduling, and external agencies to support mission requirements.
  • Track aircrew qualifications, currencies, upgrade requirements, and training progression.
  • Schedule instructors, evaluators, aircrew, aircraft, simulator, and support resources.
  • Maintain scheduling data within Patriot Excalibur (PEX) and other approved scheduling systems.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts involving leave, TDYs, medical appointments, deployments, and other commitments.
  • Assess aircraft availability and aircrew experience to support mission requirements and operational risk management.
  • Support last-minute schedule adjustments resulting from operational, maintenance, weather, or training changes.
  • Coordinate scheduling support for exercises, inspections, deployments, and special events.
  • Provide schedule updates and reports to squadron and wing leadership.
  • Attend scheduling, airspace, and range coordination meetings as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Active Secret Clearance or previously held Secret Clearance eligible for reinstatement.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working as a squadron aircrew scheduler or supporting military flying operations scheduling activities.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience using Patriot Excalibur (PEX) or a comparable military scheduling system
