Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Docketing Administrator to join our Intellectual Property group. Successful candidates will have a background in both patent and trademark law.
Key Responsibilities Include:
*Accurately docket all deadlines for the full patent and trademark prosecution cycles for US and foreign application filings.
*Review and comprehend documents submitted or received from the USPTO, international patent and trademark offices and foreign agents to ensure all deadlines are identified and docketed in accordance with established practice procedures.
*Maintain accurate patent and trademark docket records and respective matter information in the IP docket database; may include conducting periodic system audits.
*Monitor outstanding open due dates in IP docket database and follow up with attorneys and internal client teams or advance due dates in accordance with existing country law and established practice procedures.
*Maintain and distribute various matter and docket reports to attorneys and internal client teams in accordance with established practice procedures.
*Create new docket records in the IP docket database.
*Assist with intake and transfer-outs, and respective auditing of all patent transfer files; accurately update the IP docket database accordingly.
*Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Three years' experience as an IP Docketing Administrator in a law firm or corporation is preferred, or 3 years' experience as an IP Paralegal. We seek individuals with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a large volume of action items efficiently and accurately. Preferred candidates will have experience interfacing with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, WIPO, and other websites concerning patent matters. Familiarity with CPI or similar docketing software is preferred. The ability to follow both oral and written instructions and prepare highly detailed, accurate work is essential. Excellent proofreading skills and competent computer skills, including basic word processing and data entry, are also necessary. Candidates should also possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.

The salary range for this position varies by geographical market. In Minneapolis, the estimated starting annual pay range is $30-$37/hour. The compensation offered will be dependent on the candidate's experience, skills, education, professional background, overall qualifications, and geographic market location.
