What is a military contractor FMS?

Military Contractor FMS (Foreign Military Sales) professionals are responsible for managing and supporting defense-related sales and services provided by the U.S. government to foreign countries. Their work includes coordinating logistics, contracts, and compliance with export regulations, as well as facilitating communication between U.S. agencies, defense contractors, and foreign clients. What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a military contractor FMS?

To excel as a Military Contractor FMS, you need a solid background in defense contracting, international sales, and compliance, often supported by relevant degrees and security clearances. Familiarity with government procurement systems, ITAR/EAR regulations, and contract management software is typically required.
