Job description

What you'll be doing:

Schedule: PRN/As Needed - Weekend availability required

The Milieu Therapist facilitates groups based on core curriculum, provides meal monitoring and meal support., and offers milieu support, de-escalation and behavior coaching to patients in IP/Res and PHP programs. The Milieu Therapist may be required to work on-call shifts based on business needs, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local labor laws.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Facilitates curriculum-based groups.
  • Provides meal monitoring and support.
  • Documentation of groups, meals and patient check-ins and observations
  • Provides support to Milieu including the following:
    • De-escalation and crisis management
    • Bathroom monitoring
    • Monitoring outside breaks
    • Conducts self-harm and suicide assessment
    • Support morning routine in IP/Res programs
    • Collect weights, vitals and urine in some settings
  • Implements individual behavior management plans for some patients and serves as clinical lead for the program in standalone programs in evenings and weekends. Will lead more advanced groups.
  • Coverage for Primary Therapists with support from Clinical Manager or Clinical Director

Must haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in mental health or related degree program (required)
  • Master's degree in mental health or related degree program (required)
  • Intern or associate license from appropriate state licensing board (required)
  • Minimum 18 months of experience in a behavioral health or related field (requirement waived with relevant master's degree)

Bonus qualities:        

    • 1+ year facilitating groups (preferred)
