CASH POSTING SPECIALIST

Your role as a Cash Posting Specialist will allow you to serve the community, simplify healthcare, and help to provide creative solutions to ensure a world class experience. You will be responsible for ongoing tasks related to the processing of all patient claims. This role offers plenty of opportunity to grow your skills and expand your knowledge in healthcare!

The Cash Posting Specialist is responsible for accurately posting and reconciling all payments received from insurance companies, patients, and other sources. This role requires attention to detail and proficiency in processing high volumes of transactions in a timely and organized manner


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ย Accurately post payments from various sources, including insurance companies, patients, and third-party payers, to the appropriate accounts in the practice management system.
  • Reconcile daily cash receipts and ensure all payments and adjustments are applied correctly.
  • Answer incoming calls to collect payments, and to review and provide status updates on patient accounts.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting team to process refunds for overpayments and resolve outstanding balances.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities by ensuring that all payments are posted by established deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements in handling patient payment data.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements for more efficient cash posting operations.
  • Provide support for audits by ensuring accurate documentation and records of all transactions.
  • Other duties as assigned.ย 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience working in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Practice Management (PM) systems required.
  • Experience in cash posting or accounts receivable in a health care setting preferred.
