What is a midway?

Midway jobs typically refer to positions at amusement parks, fairs, or carnivals, particularly in the section known as the 'midway,' which is the area where games, food booths, and attractions are located. Workers in these roles may operate rides, manage game booths, sell food and tickets, or assist with general maintenance and customer service. These jobs often require good communication skills, a friendly attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment. Many Midway positions are seasonal and may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a midway attendant?

To thrive as a Midway Attendant, you need strong customer service skills, basic math abilities, and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, cash handling procedures, and safety protocols is typically required. Excellent communication, enthusiasm, and problem-solving abilities help attendants engage guests and resolve issues effectively. These skills ensure a positive guest experience, operational efficiency, and adherence to safety standards in a lively, fast-paced environment.

What are some common challenges faced by employees working at a midway in the amusement industry?

Employees working at a midway often encounter fast-paced environments, especially during peak operating hours or special events. Common challenges include managing large crowds, ensuring game fairness and safety, and providing excellent customer service to guests of all ages. Team members must be adaptable, as their daily responsibilities can shift between running games, handling cash transactions, and assisting with maintenance. Effective communication and teamwork are essential, as staff frequently collaborate to resolve guest issues and maintain a fun, safe atmosphere.

As an Internal Medicine physician, you will be part of the largest multi-specialty care system in the Twin Cities.  The position requires board certification/board eligibility in Internal Medicine.  This is an out-patient position where you will have the ability to perform a range of in-clinic procedures.

You will be joining a team that is supportive and respectful of one another and deeply committed to the mission of HealthPartners.  Here, you'll become a partner for good, helping to improve the health and well-being of our patients, members and community. NEIGHBORHOOD:

Midway is in a great area that gets its name from its location, a midway point between Minneapolis and St. Paul. This puts residents within close proximity to the many wonderful cultural, food, art and entertainment options the Twin Cities has to offer. The neighborhoods near the clinic are diverse and family friendly. Local attractions include Allianz Field, Midway Peace Park and the beloved Minnesota State Fair.
