Job description

About Us
Bronco is an applied AI lab helping chipmakers keep Moore's law going. Our mission is to build AI silicon verification agents that find bugs, drive coverage, and help companies ship working chips on time.
We're currently deployed alongside verification teams at some of the largest chip companies in the world and AI chip startups, supporting production SoC designs at leading-edge process nodes.
We are backed by tier-1 Silicon Valley investors with deep relationships with semiconductor leaders producing new chips and researchers pioneering the adoption of AI for chip design.
About the role
As a founding software engineer at Bronco AI, you will be building world-class intelligent reasoning systems for chip verification. You'll own the product from pushing the frontier of model capabilities to deploying onsite with our customers. In particular, you'll work closely with leading chip teams to improve their usage of the product and bring future capabilities to where they're most needed to deliver working chips on time.
The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer who seeks to get closer to the cutting edge of AI and work in a high-ownership, high-velocity environment.
Who you are
  • You put in the hours. You're ready to burn the midnight oil to make sure our customers succeed, come hell or high water.
  • You run towards the fire. Startups are a series of miracles and you are a miracle worker. You solve problems before they pop up. You support the team wherever you're most needed.
  • You learn incredibly quickly. You're an expert in multiple technical domains and you want to become an expert in a few more. You feel confident jumping headfirst into deep technical challenges, learning on the fly, and delivering results.

What you'll do
  • Design and implement core components of our AI-powered engineering systems
  • Build out the frontend and backend for helping chip teams close coverage with our AI
  • Develop and optimize systems for data processing and model inference at scale
  • Collaborate with domain experts to incorporate specialized knowledge into AI systems
  • Work alongside our customers to deploy, support, and improve the product

We'd like to see
  • You are an exceptional engineer who can solve any problem.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Python and/or C++
  • Proficiency in full-stack web development
  • Experience building LLM applications and agentic LLM systems
  • Strong intuition about computer architecture to quickly understand chip design and verification tasks
  • Passion for product design and customer-facing work

We'd prefer if you had
  • A background or experience with Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Familiarity with chip design and verification processes in industry
  • Experience with high-performance computing and optimization
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and distributed systems

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and equity package
  • Comprehensive benefits including health, vision, and dental coverage
  • High-ownership, high-velocity environment with rapid learning opportunities
  • Chance to work on a profound technical problem that, if solved, will accelerate the future of technology development and civilization

If you're passionate about revolutionizing chip verification through AI and ready to make a significant impact in a well-funded startup environment, we want to hear from you!
The pay range for this role is:
150,000 - 200,000 USD per year (Bronco HQ)
