Job description

JOB Summary:

Assists in maintenance of Midnight Mission Building Facilities to ensure the safety of our buildings.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs routine maintenance tasks such as fixing structural damage: windows, doors, or walls.
  • Repairs broken and/or leaking plumbing to avoid water potential damage including use of all water fixtures.
  • Correct damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed are reported.
  • Maintain building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly.
  • Work with team to identify potential problems throughout the building to identify potential problems.
  • Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped.
  • Overseeing all aspects of OSHA inspections including Overseeing expectations and maintaining facility to OSHA standards, weekly walkthroughs, and inspections.
  • Serving as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors.
  • Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees and ensures employees do the same within the team.
  • Solicits employee feedback, utilizes an "open door" policy and reviews employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns.
  • Performs duties in team members absence or determine appropriate replacement to fill gaps.
  • Ensures that all TMM policies are administered fairly and consistently.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience

  • 3 years' experience in Maintenance
  • Management experience preferred.

  • Assisting in the diagnosis and repair faults in Electrical and Mechanical Installations, plant and equipment
  • Performs general repairs and services in all maintenance related disciplines.
  • In conjunction with the facilities manager, helps ensure the technical smooth running of the building installations.
  • Undertake repairs to building furniture including doors, windows, cupboards, shelving, building fabric, footpaths.
  • Perform minor adjustments on office furniture, fixtures and other items in the facility
  • Supervise cleaning work performed by the outsourced cleaning company, window cleaning, kitchen cleaning, general room cleaning, recreation room cleaning, TV room and staircase cleaning and report any irregularities Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; provides sound financial/business feedback to the "Facilities Manager"; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
