Job description

Where You'll Work
At CHI Health Midlands we proudly serve Sarpy County and surrounding areas in Nebraska with patient-focused care. When designing our facility, we kept the patient viewpoint in mind, setting a tone for a more comfortable, less stressful hospital stay. We provide our patients with some of the highest quality scores in the country in heart and vascular, emergency, and surgical care. Also, we offer high quality care in diagnostics/radiology, women's care, home care, orthopedics, sleep and breathing disorders.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Patient Access Representative Sr., you will serve as a vital contributor to our hospital revenue cycle, ensuring seamless patient registration and admitting workflows. You will be responsible for handling moderately complex encounter scenarios, including insurance verification, benefits review, and navigating non-standard payer requirements. By acting as an informal resource for team members and collaborating across departments, you will help optimize patient access operations and support the delivery of high-quality, mission-driven care at Midlands Hospital.
Every day you will perform essential registration functions across high-acuity areas such as the Emergency Department and main admitting units, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance. Your daily routine will involve communicating detailed financial responsibility to patients, collecting payments at the time of service, and flexing across various access points to maintain operational continuity during peak volumes. You will also utilize multiple digital tools to manage documentation, resolve discrepancies, and provide front-line guidance to help your team navigate complex access-related challenges effectively.
To be successful in this role, you will possess 1-3 years of experience in patient access, healthcare registration, or a related administrative field, specifically with demonstrated expertise in insurance verification and benefits review. We are looking for an analytical professional who can follow instructions, coordinate tasks independently, and maintain a high standard of professionalism and privacy compliance. A high school diploma or GED is required, and you should be comfortable working in a sedentary environment with the ability to manage workloads efficiently to meet our organizational business goals.
