Job Description We are seeking a NonStop / Middleware Production Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in NonStop technical support, UNIX/Linux production operations, and messaging middleware engineering and a proven ability to design, automate, and support resilient low-latency, high-throughput messaging solutions. Responsibilities: Provide operational and engineering support for messaging middleware across multi-datacenter, multi-tier environments. Serve as a key liaison between Production and Development teams to enable reliable releases and upgrades. Define, automate, and maintain processes for data validation, entitlements integration, and platform upgrades. Diagnose and resolve production issues, including on-call participation and urgent incident triage with vendors. Optimize existing solutions and contribute to the design of resilient, low-latency, high-throughput messaging architectures. Develop software solutions to eliminate manual and repeatable work, leveraging scripting and programming tools. Follow reference models, blueprints, and playbooks to ensure compliance with architecture standards and policies. Assist in translating business requirements into technical designs and artifacts for compliant deployments. Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams during releases to implement tasks and minimize risk. Required Skills & Qualifications: NonStop Technical Support expertise: OS, Coldloads, Safeguard, TAL, FUP, PUP, SCF, Backups, Expand, and Xypro tools (XAM, XAC, Compliance Pro). 2-4 years in a UNIX/Linux production environment managing hundreds of hosts. Minimum 4 years programming in Perl, Python, Bash, or a C-derivative (C++, Java). 2-4 years experience with data structures and databases (SQL and NoSQL). Strong knowledge of network and security protocols: TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, SSH, SFTP. Experience troubleshooting production applications and delivering on-call support. HSM support experience with Utimaco and Futurex. Proficiency with Linux and Windows and general information security concepts. Automation skills with Ansible and proficiency using Git, Bitbucket, Jira, and Wiki. Experience with middleware concepts and platforms such as AMPS, MQ, or Kafka, and platform OS (Windows, Unix). Programming experience interfacing with web and backend system interfaces. Familiarity with multiple authentication methods, including Kerberos and SiteMinder. Excellent written and oral communication with strong documentation skills in MS Office, Visio, and Project. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. Preferred Skills: Experience designing and supporting low-latency, high-throughput messaging architectures. Experience with Java in production environments. Why BCforward?
