Job description

LIBRARY AIDE
Clearcreek Elementary


SUMMARY: Under supervision in maintaining and operating the school library. Reports to building principal.


DUTIES/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assists with overall operation of the library, as required. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting
with the following tasks:
a. Ordering and maintaining books.
b. Issuing daily notices to homeroom teachers concerning overdue books and collecting fines for such books.
c. Maintaining current magazines and newspapers for shelving.
d. Year-end inventory of books and audio-visual materials.
e. Keeping current inventory of existing and needed supplies; keeping library neat and orderly.
f. Supervision of students in library.
g. Maintaining appropriate student discipline; assisting with building attendance program; and a file of library patrons.
2. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
3. Maintains valid educational aide certificate.
4. Demonstrates positive and supportive relationship with students and staff.
5. Performs other duties required in job description and as assigned by supervisor(s)














QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid Ohio Educational Aide Certificate (obtained prior to starting position).
2. Must possess valid Ohio driver's license.
3. Must pass criminal background check.




CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Effective Date: 2026/2027 school year
2. Terms of Employment: 7 hours day/193 day contract
3. Salary and Fringe Benefits: According to the current negotiated agreement. $18.97 per hour
