Administrative Assistant โ Middle School
Reports To: Middle School Director
Position Summary Sterling Montessori seeks an organized, detail-oriented, and independent Administrative Assistant to provide administrative and operational support primarily to the Middle School Director. This position plays an important role in supporting the daily operations of the school, coordinating events, assisting faculty, maintaining student records, and facilitating communication with families.
Essential Functions Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate middle school events, field trips, ceremonies, and other off-campus activities by working with vendors, service providers, school staff, and families.
- Prepare and process administrative documentation including purchase orders, permission slips, student records, progress documentation, and other departmental records.
- Provide administrative support for meetings, campus activities, and special projects.
- Prepare meeting agendas, organize meeting materials, and maintain related documentation.
- Assemble instructional resources and classroom materials for faculty and students.
- Provide classroom support and student supervision under the direction of the Middle School Director and instructional staff.
- Assist teachers with classroom organization and behavior management as directed.
- Coordinate and maintain documentation related to Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) interventions.
- Develop and distribute regular and as-needed communications to families.
- Maintain confidential student and personnel information in accordance with school policies.
- Provide administrative support to other school Directors as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associateโs or Bachelorโs degree preferred. Previous administrative experience, preferably in an educational setting. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while working independently. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the campus during the workday. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
Work Schedule Full-time position. Salary range $40,000-$50,000 per year commensurate with experience.
