Middle Office Back Office Analyst, Trading, SQL, Data Modeling - Work From Home
We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Middle Office Back Office (MOBO) Analyst to join a growing team. This Middle Office Back Office Analyst role requires meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills. The hours for this position are 7am to 4pm CT. This position is 100% Remote.
Middle Office Back Office Analyst Responsibilities:
- Trade Processing and Settlement: Assist with the accurate and timely processing of all trades executed by the trading desk, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Coordinate with counterparties and clearing firms for trade settlement.
- Risk Management: Maintain effective risk management controls within the middle and back-office operations. Monitor trading activities for adherence to risk limits and escalate any breaches or concerns to senior leadership.
- Reconciliation: Reconciliation of trade and position data between internal systems and external counterparties. Conduct daily, monthly, and ad-hoc reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of regulatory changes and requirements relevant to proprietary trading operations. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including reporting obligations and record-keeping requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and optimize middle and back-office processes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk. Implement best practices and automation tools where appropriate.
- Technology Integration: Work closely with the IT department to leverage technology solutions for improving middle and back office operations. Collaborate on system enhancements, upgrades, and integrations to support business needs.
- Performance Reporting: Generate and distribute performance reports and analytics related to trading activities, P&L, and risk metrics.
- Vendor Management: Work with third-party service providers and vendors, including prime brokers, custodians, and technology vendors.
Middle Office Back Office Analyst Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year university in finance, accounting or related field.
- Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, FRM) is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in middle office, back office, or operations roles within a proprietary trading firm or financial institution.
- Understanding of financial markets, trading products, and risk management concepts.
- Proficiency in trade processing and settlement systems (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, Fidessa) and reconciliation tools.
- Familiarity with technology solutions for middle and back office operations, including trade capture, risk management, and reporting tools.
- Proficiency in relational databases, Microsoft SQL preferred.
- Experience with SQL, stored procedures, data models, database security, etc.
- Python knowledge desired and a definite plus.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming and design.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards applicable to proprietary trading activities.
