About the job
The Customer Intelligence R&D team is looking for a Software Developer to contribute to the Customer Segmentation area. The segmentation team is looking to the future, and how we can best support our customers by leveraging the latest in Generative AI within our solutions. You will contribute to various segmentation features driven by the technical acumen you bring. The Segmentation team hosting this position is a multi-talented feature team contributing to one of the core functions powering our Customer Intelligence CI360 solutions.
As a Software Developer, you will:
  • Design and develop high-quality, testable, and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to CI360 best practices and processes
  • Ensure solutions meet the highest data security guidelines and are consistent with R&D standards
  • Develop multi-tenancy solutions that support multiple services and scale seamlessly
  • Expand knowledge of CI360 solutions, and how Segmentation services support those solutions
  • Review cloud technologies and participate in research efforts as it pertains to Segmentation services
  • Be encouraged to participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals
  • Assist with customer support issues related to Segmentation as required
  • You're curious, passionate, authentic and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do

Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field with a minimum of 3 years of full-time relevant work experience
  • Demonstrable experience with Java programming language
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including the ability to develop, deploy, and support applications and infrastructure in a cloud environment
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications
  • Location: Cary HQ, hybrid (minimum of 3 days in the office per week)

Preferred qualifications
  • Strong programming skills in SAS or language(s) related to assigned area
  • Ability to think analytically and effectively communicate issues and solutions
  • Thorough knowledge of additional AWS services (Lambda, ECR/ECS, SQS, SNS, OpenSearch, DynamoDB, etc.)
  • Experience with Agile Software Development practices and CI/CD software delivery
