Reports To:               Operations Supervisor

 

SUMMARY

Oversees the daily objectives set by the Supervisor and makes sure the daily department work volumes are completed. Contributes to a work team environment and interfaces with employees and customers. Assures associates maintain good manufacturing practices (GMP) as well as maintain product specifications. Extreme attention to detail is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Additional responsibilities may be assigned.
  • Organizes production by reviewing, planning, and allocating orders.
  • Schedule transportation appointments with various carriers, trucking companies and Freight Forwarders for pick up/ delivery times as well as receipt of client’s returns and inbound warehoused freight.
  • Maintains quality by following good manufacturing practices (GMPs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Documents production by completing end of day reports and updates inventories.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of all department processes and be able to train others in all aspects of processes, policies and procedures. 
  • Works with Supervisor to ensure implementation of new strategies and initiatives to effectively meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Responsible for leading their team in accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to the department
  • Maintains production standards by monitoring work execution to assure that only authorized and trained processes are being used, including proper use of equipment.
  • Ability to operate a forklift as needed to assist with loading and unloading materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or heavy power operated equipment, such as a Forklift. Order Picker, Reach Truck, Dock Stocker Forklift, and/or Power Operated Pallet Jack.

MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES

Cross training in additional duties may be needed.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to lead and direct associates daily.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Some college and High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred, but not required; General warehouse experience: Knowledge of WMS; Good computer skills. Forklift Certification. Past Customer Services experience a plus. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and correspondence.  

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to physically count, add, subtract, multiply and divide.

REASONING ABILILTY

Ability to define problems establishes facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
