Job Description

You will play a key role in supporting the systems and campaigns that power Uncommon Schools’ fundraising efforts. As Associate Manager, Annual Giving & Development Operations, you will help ensure donors have a seamless experience while contributing to the growth of our annual fund.

In this role, you will manage core development operations while also supporting donor outreach, campaign execution, and stewardship. You will work closely with colleagues across the development team to translate strong systems and follow-through into meaningful fundraising outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your experience in fundraising while building expertise in the operational side of development.

Responsibilities

Development Operations & Systems

  • Manage donor data in Salesforce, ensuring accuracy across records, gift entry, acknowledgements, and reporting
  • Oversee gift processing from receipt through acknowledgement, maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and a strong donor experience
  • Maintain systems, workflows, and documentation that support efficient development operations
  • Support reporting and data tracking to inform fundraising strategy and decision-making

Annual Fund Execution

  • Support and execute annual fund initiatives, including email, direct mail, and digital campaigns
  • Coordinate campaign logistics and timelines to ensure smooth execution
  • Contribute to donor outreach efforts, including targeted communications and direct solicitation
  • Track campaign progress and support ongoing improvements

Donor Engagement & Stewardship

  • Support donor management processes, including tracking proposals, pledges, renewals, and follow-ups
  • Conduct outreach to annual fund and select mid-level donors, helping to build and maintain relationships
  • Partner with team members to ensure donors receive timely, thoughtful communication
  • Help strengthen donor engagement through consistent follow-through and attention to detail

Project & Team Support

  • Support development projects and team priorities through strong coordination and follow-through
  • Assist with event logistics and prospect research as needed
  • Contribute to donor-facing materials and written communications
  • Provide administrative support that enables the broader team to operate effectively
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3–4 years of professional experience, including 1–2 years in a directly relevant area
  • Experience working with a CRM (Salesforce or similar), with a focus on data accuracy and reporting
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear, thoughtful written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on details

Preferred

  • Experience in fundraising, development operations, or donor relations
  • Experience with annual fund campaigns, gift processing, or donor stewardship
  • Experience in operations, administration, or coordination roles with high attention to detail
  • Comfort communicating with external stakeholders in a professional setting
  • Interest in continuing to grow in development and fundraising

Physical Requirements

  • Minimal physical demands; primarily sitting at a desk for extended periods

Work Environment

  • Uncommon is an in-person organization, with a commitment of at least three days each week at our Central Office in downtown Manhattan (100 Church Street)

Compensation:
The full compensation range for this role is $70,100–$82,500. Typically, new hires who fully meet all qualifications listed in the job description will start at $74,300. Starting compensation below this reflects candidates with less experience or qualifications. Offers near the top end of the range are reserved for candidates who significantly exceed the qualifications, bringing extensive experience and specialized expertise beyond what is listed. Compensation determinations consider relevant professional experience and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Additionally, because we value internal growth and tenure, current staff members are not subject to salary caps within this range.

Uncommon is an in-person organization, with a commitment of at least three days each week at our Central Office in downtown Manhattan (100 Church Street).
