JOB DETAILS:

Title: Product Designer

Location: Century City, CA (Hybrid role with 2 days onsite)

Type: 06 plus months contract with extension.

Job Description:

Our client is looking for a solid mid-level product designer. The person needs to be an end-to-end product designer that can cover both UX and UI. Ideally should have 2 5 years of experience depending on their level.

What we look for Portfolios should demonstrate some combination of the below. Person should be clear that they have an attention to detail, taste, strategic thinking, and clear communication.

Case Study driven:

  • Projects include end-to-end case studies: problem framing, research, sketches, testing, iteration, final UI.
  • Uses visuals (wireframes, user flows, final designs) with concise writing explaining why decisions were made.
  • Strategic thinking is clear: not just what I designed, but why it mattered to business/user goals.

Systems and Strategy Focus:

  • Shows ability to use, build, and contribute to a design system.
  • Includes diagrams of user journeys and decision trees, plus examples of how consistency and scalability were achieved.
  • Demonstrates a balance of macro (strategy) and micro (UI polish).

Strong Visual/UI Taste:

  • Final mockups are crisp, well-structured, and demonstrate hierarchy, typography, and spacing mastery.
  • Where applicable, presents before/after screens to showcase visual improvement and clarity.
  • Demonstrates restraint design feels clean, not overloaded.

Collaborative Storytelling:

  • Frames projects within a team context Worked with PM, engineers, researcher.
  • Highlights contribution clearly, e.g. I owned the information architecture and prototyping .
  • Shows awareness of cross-functional strategy, not just isolated design outputs.

Evidence-based Iteration:

  • Displays prototypes and testing outcomes.
  • Includes feedback loops, e.g. users were confused by X, so I changed Y .
  • Proves the candidate thinks critically and doesn t just produce polished visuals.
