Job description

MTSI is currently seeking a Network Systems Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location to support the Army's The Low Cost Containerized Munition (LCCM), part of Advanced Fires Project Office (AFPO). The LCCM group has an immediate need for an individual contributor to assist sustainment, and modernization efforts involving a rapidly developed Systems. Primary duty is to serve as a Network Systems Engineer, which is responsible for the development, testing, integration, and fielding of the Army's LCCM capability. The Network Systems Engineer is responsible for advising leadership in the design, development, fielding, and modernization LCCM. The Network Systems Engineer will assist in managing technical requirements, and risk for the Department of War (DoW) and the Army's Integrated Fires priority to field an experimental prototype battery with residual combat capability in support of Multi-Domain Operations.
DUTIES:
  • Support the development, prototyping, modernization, testing, and evaluation of BOC Network Systems software and hardware and support the integration and test events of the Mid-Range Capabilities.
  • Responsible for interfacing with the LCCM vendors and evaluating software interfaces into existing network architecture are compatible
  • Provide systems engineering & integration support for weapons system network.
  • Develop network diagrams to include modernization efforts and network additions for added hardware.
  • Review and define system requirements
  • Review and evaluate system technical specifications, designs, analyses, test plans/procedures, and technical data packages
  • Interface with other government organizations and development contractors to facilitate preliminary concept exploration and candidate system design

โ€ข Develop and present briefings, analysis, and reports to industry, internal/external government organizations, and senior/executive leadership within DoW and the Federal Government.
Required Skills/Experience:
  • Active Secret Clearance/with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance within 12 months, if needed
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to multitask in a high paced environment
  • Experience in network/IP configurations management.
  • Ability to work on-site.
  • 10 years of experience supporting engineering for weapon systems
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering for major defense acquisition program office or OEM
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of systems engineering and requirements analysis
  • Successful missile system fire direction and power systems development experience
  • Demonstrated experience with System Requirements Design Reviews
  • Travel: 10%
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Master's degree preferred.

PREFERRED / DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Active TS/SCI
  • Self-starter, requiring minimal supervision, with proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Successful technical missile system fire direction and power systems development experience with Tactical Tomahawk Weapon Control System (TTWCS), Aegis Weapon System (AWS), the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), and the Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS)
  • Experience with fielded DoD internet terminal systems (Starlink, SIPR/NIPR Access Point (SNAP), T2Network Systems).
  • Knowledge of system interface requirements and requirements management as well as techniques to drive system behaviors
  • Experience preparing briefings and documentation
  • Familiar with conducting reviews of entrance and exit criteria
