About the Role
Redhorse is transforming how the government utilizes data and technology. We are looking for a Mid-Level Software Developer to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of a web-based tool used by non-technical end users. This role will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of government operations, offering a meaningful opportunity to contribute to mission-critical projects. The ideal candidate is a motivated developer with solid experience in AWS cloud services and application development on classified systems. You will collaborate with senior engineers to help deliver secure, scalable, and compliant technical solutions. You will support the implementation of the tool, ensuring that development practices align with Sponsor requirements, security standards, and federal compliance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of the web-based tool using AWS cloud services on classified systems.
  • Support architecture to ensure reliability and compliance with federal requirements.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow established QA and coding standards.
  • Apply secure software development techniques, including encryption, user authentication, and role-based access control.
  • Integrate APIs, databases, and other services to support functionality
  • Programmatically interface with third-party systems
  • Collaborate with the IT PM, senior developers, and customer stakeholders to translate user requirements into technical solutions.
  • Support system reliability, monitoring, and automation improvements.

Required Experience / Clearance
  • Active TS/SCI with FS Polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems or other related degree
  • 3+ years of programming experience in programming languages, web application technologies and integration on classified IC cloud systems
  • Familiarity with Agile requirements management and sprint planning
  • AWS certification or equivalent cloud technology certification (or actively pursuing)
  • Familiarity with SecDevOps practices such as CI/CD and testing suites

Desired Experience
  • Experience with Agile PM tools such as Jira or Confluence
  • Experience programming with AngularJS, JavaScript, Java, HTML, CSS
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL data solutions, plus query languages like SQL
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, or Docker
