Job Responsibilities
The Department of Integrated Information Technology, College of Engineering and Computing, University of South Carolina, invites applications for a non-tenure track position as Information Technology Instructor. This is an 11-month renewable appointment. The candidate selected for this position will have primary responsibility for teaching undergraduate courses in information technology (in both classroom and online settings) with a focus on some combination of user experience, training systems, hardware and software fundamental, networking, operating systems and troubleshooting, IT management, program design and development, database, project management, computer security, web development, or mobile technologies. Responsibilities will include departmental, college, and/or university committees and participation in IIT program assessment. The Integrated Information Technology Department offers a bachelor of science degree in integrated information technology (IIT) and a master's degree in health information technology (MHIT). The undergraduate IIT program focuses on the selection, creation, application, integration and management of information technologies within an organizational context. In addition to a solid foundation of core competencies, the program emphasizes IT project management, networking, security, web development, enterprise systems, database systems and data analytics.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A master's in information technology, information systems, or closely related field and demonstrated expertise in teaching at the post-secondary level are required.
Preferred Qualifications
A doctorate in information technology, information systems or a closely related field is highly desired. Industry experience and online teaching experience are preferred.
