Job description

Essential Job Functions:
• Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in
accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
• Provide technical support to development staff
• Assist with the configuration and operation of client based computer operating systems
• Provide hardware troubleshooting and maintenance
• Upgrade firmware
• Support COTS products
• Perform hardware buildouts
• Build custom images to conform to FAA security benchmarks
• Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures and communicate with impacted constituencies
• Assist configure networking services and protocols
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field is preferred) + 5 yrs. related
experience
• Experience using Red Hat software suite ( red Hat 5 and above)
• Experience working with HP, Dell and Cisco products
• Experience working with HP Openview, Loadrunner, VMWare, Rational software, Oracle, DOORS, SQL, Linux, Unix, and
Java
• Knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues
