Description:

OCH Technologies is seeking an experienced Mid-Level Full Stack Developer to support the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Enterprise Information Display System (E-IDS) modernization program. The E-IDS program is a major modernization effort delivering mission-critical software that supports the National Airspace System (NAS). In this role, the candidate will develop, test, deploy, and maintain modern full-stack applications, and operational efficiency of aviation information used across FAA operations.


The candidate will also contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle, collaborating closely with software developers, software architects, platform engineers, system integration, test, product owners, and other cross-functional development teams. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong Java and Spring Boot expertise, modern Angular development skills, and experience building secure, scalable cloud-native applications using Agile and DevSecOps practices.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable full-stack applications supporting the FAA Enterprise Information Display System (E-IDS).
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain back-end services using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
  • Build and maintain responsive front-end user interfaces using Angular or comparable modern web technologies.
  • Collaborate with software architects, platform engineers, system integration, test, system integration, test, product owners, and other cross-functional development teams to deliver integrated software solutions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize application across development, integration, test, and production-like environments.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to software quality, maintainability, and secure coding practices.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design artifacts, implementation notes, and operational documentation.
  • Analyze and resolve software defects, performance issues, and integration challenges while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities may evolve over time to support team and organizational goals, but will remain consistent with the overall scope of the role.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications


Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or other related technical discipline


Experience

  • At least five (5) or more years of professional software development experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications.
  • Demonstrated experience developing applications using Java and the Spring Boot framework.
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
  • Experience developing modern, responsive web applications using Angular or a comparable JavaScript/TypeScript framework.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar technologies.
  • Experience developing and deploying containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
  • Experience working within Agile software development teams using Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing enterprise applications across development, integration, and test environments.
  • Experience integrating front-end applications with RESTful services and enterprise back-end systems.

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting FAA or other Federal Government software development programs.
  • Experience developing cloud-native applications using OpenShift or Kubernetes platforms.

  • Experience with Spring Cloud, Spring Security, and distributed microservices architectures.
  • Experience working with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ or similar message brokers.

  • Experience working with PostgreSQL or other enterprise relational database platforms.
  • Experience participating in software architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and peer code reviews.
