Description:

The Maintenance Technician II is a mid-level maintenance position responsible for supporting the safe and reliable operation of machinery, production equipment, and facility systems. The role requires an intermediate understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, along with the ability to independently perform assigned maintenance and repair work. This position will begin on the day shift and transition to a 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. schedule once the employee has completed sufficient training and demonstrated proficiency in the essential job functions.


Experience and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical training or coursework in industrial maintenance is preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Two to five years of maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Forklift certification is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Proficiency with power tools, welding equipment, and machining equipment.
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
Tools, Equipment, and Systems

The position may work with:

  • Boom lifts, scissor lifts, forklifts, ladders, electric and manual hoists, and basic rigging equipment.
  • Lathes, mills, drill presses, radial drill presses, sheet-metal shears, and presses.
  • Chop saws, band saws, plasma cutters, torches, soldering irons, and ARC, MIG, and TIG welders.
  • Sanders and grinders.
  • Multimeters, hydraulic controls, power tools, and hand tools.
  • Furnaces, burners, air compressors, pneumatic systems, and plumbing systems.
Physical Requirements

The role involves frequent standing, bending, reaching, climbing, crawling, kneeling, squatting, walking, grasping, and fine-motor work. It also requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects of varying weights, including occasional handling of heavier materials. The employee may operate forklifts and vehicles as needed.

  • Assist with the installation of automated machinery and related equipment.
  • Assist with programming, adjusting, and repairing automated machinery.
  • Use blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical documents to complete maintenance work.
  • Safely operate power tools, hand tools, machining equipment, welding equipment, lifting equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
  • Perform basic machining, fabrication, cutting, welding, soldering, grinding, and related maintenance work.
  • Work with industrial systems such as furnaces, burners, air compressors, plumbing, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic controls.
  • Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, inspections, equipment repairs, and completed work.
  • Follow all required safety procedures, equipment-operation requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area.
  • Independently complete assigned maintenance tasks and communicate equipment concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor.
