1. SCOPE
Engineer 3 represents a mid-level engineering role within Greaves Corporation. This role is responsible for advanced product design, cross-functional leadership collaboration, mentoring Engineers I & II, and ensuring engineering projects meet business, quality, and production goals. Engineer 3 acts as a technical team leader, coordinating between engineering, manufacturing, quality, and sales to deliver reliable, cost-effective products to market.

2. REQUIRED SKILLS
• Advanced CAD & Design
o Mastery of SolidWorks (3D modeling, assemblies, production drawings, PDM/ERP integration).
o Ability to set complex geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
o Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and design validation.
• Documentation & Standards
o Generation and control of engineering documentation, BOMs, and ERP item masters.
o Knowledge of UL, IEEE, ASTM, and NEC standards for electrical connectors and related products.
o Ensure revision control and continuity between engineering servers, ERP system, and production documentation.
• Manufacturing Integration
o Ability to design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
o Evaluate new tooling, fixtures, and production methods to improve efficiency.
o Strong understanding of metals, coatings, and machining/forming processes relevant to electrical connectors.
• Continuous Improvement
o Apply Lean/6σ methodologies to optimize design and production workflows.
o Initiate and lead corrective actions from production or quality issues.
3. PROJECT MANAGEMENT
• Lead complex product development initiatives from concept through release.
• Establish realistic project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing company priorities.
• Provide technical input to sales and supply chain teams regarding lead times, feasibility, and cost impacts.
4. TEAM MANAGEMENT
• Mentor Engineer Techs, Engineer I, and Engineer II staff; delegate tasks and provide training.
• Coordinate efforts between:
o Internal Teams: Design, Tool Room, Manufacturing.
o External Stakeholders: Quality, Production, Sales, and Supply Chain.
• Act as the technical lead for assigned product families.
• Represent Engineering in cross-departmental meetings, recommendations and collaborative decision-making.
5. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Education:
o bachelor’s degree, in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering is required.
o master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or Materials Science preferred.
• Experience:
o 5–7 years of engineering experience in manufacturing (preferably electrical connectors, components, or related industries).
o Proven track record in leading projects and cross-functional team collaboration.
o Demonstrated ability to improve designs for cost, quality, and manufacturability.
• Additional Requirements:
o Proficiency in SolidWorks, ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
o Strong communication skills for internal teams and customer-facing discussions.
o Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
