Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain data assets across the entire data lifecycle, from ingestion and transformation to reporting and troubleshooting.
  • Utilize a modern data stack, including Azure, Snowflake, Linux, microservices, and various orchestration tools and BI platforms.
  • Write and optimize code using SQL, Python, and Linux scripting.
  • Manage code and collaborate with others using GitHub and implement CI/CD practices.
  • Work with business partners to understand their needs and deliver data solutions that align with the company's strategy.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot data-related issues.

Required Skills and Experience
  • 5-7+ years of experience in data engineering, software development, or a similar technical role.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Deep expertise in SQL, Python, and Linux scripting.
  • Proven experience with data warehouse design and performance optimization.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD automation (e.g., GitHub Actions).
  • Experience with Azure services (e.g., Data Factory, Synapse, Key Vault, Container Services).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.

Additional Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with legacy data tools like SQL Server, SSIS, and SSRS.
  • Familiarity with financial services, specifically investment management (fixed income and equity).
  • Experience with Snowflake ML/AI features and the R programming language.
  • Experience with Linux administration and system monitoring.
  • Experience using DAX.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
