What is a mid level Christian nanny?

Mid Level Christian Nannies are child care professionals who have some experience (typically 2-5 years) working with children and incorporate Christian values into their caregiving. They are responsible for providing a safe, nurturing environment, assisting with daily routines, and often integrating faith-based teachings or activities. These nannies may work in private homes or within faith-based organizations, supporting families who wish to raise their children within the Christian faith. Their experience level means they can handle a range of childcare situations independently while aligning with the family's spiritual and moral expectations.

How does a mid level Christian nanny typically incorporate faith-based principles into daily childcare routines?

A Mid Level Christian Nanny often weaves faith-based values into everyday activities by including prayer times, reading Bible stories, and encouraging positive character traits such as kindness and honesty. These nannies may also lead children in songs or crafts with Christian themes and support the family's specific traditions or church involvement. Communication with parents is crucial to ensure the approach aligns with their beliefs and expectations, fostering a nurturing environment that promotes both spiritual and personal growth.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a mid level Christian nanny, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Mid Level Christian Nanny, you need experience in childcare, knowledge of child development, and a background that aligns with Christian values, often supported by CPR/First Aid certification. Familiarity with scheduling tools, child safety systems, and basic educational resources is typically required. Patience, strong communication, and the ability to model positive behavior are key soft skills that distinguish top candidates. These competencies ensure a nurturing, safe, and values-driven environment for children, meeting both practical and spiritual needs.

What is the difference between Mid Level Christian Nanny vs Childcare Provider?

AspectMid Level Christian NannyChildcare Provider
CredentialsCPR certification, background check, some religious trainingCPR certification, background check, general childcare training
Work EnvironmentPrivate homes, religious settings, family-focusedDaycares, preschools, community centers
Employer & Industry UsageFamilies seeking religious-based careChildcare centers, organizations, general childcare services

While both roles involve caring for children, a Mid Level Christian Nanny provides personalized, faith-based care primarily in private homes, often with religious activities. A Childcare Provider typically works in group settings like daycares, focusing on general child development without religious emphasis. The choice depends on whether the family prefers faith-based, one-on-one care or a more communal childcare environment.

JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the VP-Direct Marketing is responsible for leading an integrated, audience-first direct marketing fundraising program focused on growing small individual giving (gifts under $10K) for HFHI. This leader oversees strategy, execution, and performance across multiple channels-including direct mail, digital fundraising, telemarketing, monthly giving, mid-level donor engagement, and emerging platforms-to generate sustainable revenue growth and deepen supporter engagement.
Driven by a passion to ensure everyone has a decent place to live, this individual is one-part strategic leader, one-part expert direct marketer, one-part change agent and one-part innovative problem-solver. As a critical member of the Resource Development Management Group, they will serve as a thought-leader and champion to help shape the future of fundraising and supporter engagement-at a pivotal moment where transformation is necessary to address the affordable housing crisis. The VP will help lead the continued evolution of one of the largest direct response fundraising programs in the sector, modernizing strategies, technologies, and donor experiences to meet changing supporter expectations.
The VP-Direct Marketing's primary focus will be expanding and optimizing our direct marketing program; attracting the next generation of donors to Habitat; growing acquisition, retention, monthly giving, and mid-level donor programs; and strategically managing direct marketing investments to optimize revenue, donor lifetime value, and cost to raise a dollar. All while building an integrated donor journey that serves as a pipeline for major and planned gifts.
This includes advancing segmentation, testing, personalization, predictive analytics, automation, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence to improve fundraising effectiveness while maintaining the highest standards of donor trust and stewardship.
Aligned with and comfortable leading in an inclusive Christian ministry, they will be a true servant leader exemplifying Habitat's core values of humility, courage, and accountability. Additionally, they will possess strong strategic thinking, relationship management, and highly influential, yet humbly persuasive communication skills. They will lead a professional direct marketing team of approximately twenty staff and collaborate with a large network of affiliates to raise over $90M per year through the direct marketing program.
Other areas of focus for the VP-Direct Marketing include the following: ensuring appropriate mentorship of mid-level leaders on the team; proliferating the application of data-based decision making and appropriate metrics to guide the work of the Direct Marketing team; removing silos and identifying opportunities for synergy across the Resource Development division and broader Habitat, especially with colleagues in global communications; and enhancing the esprit de corps and sense of team culture among a remote, geographically diverse team.

Key Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

(30%)

  • Oversee the entire direct marketing portfolio, including direct mail, telemarketing, digital fundraising, monthly giving, and other emerging channels, while driving greater integration across donor touchpoints. Continuously generate, test, and scale new approaches that improve performance, optimize cost to raise a dollar, advance a digital-first and data-informed operating model, and maximize return on investment. (20%)

  • Responsible for developing long-term growth and transformation plans for the direct marketing program, including evaluation of potential international expansion opportunities, new fundraising channels, and investments in technology, data, and operational capabilities.(5%)

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Resource Development team, helping to shape the future of fundraising through audience-centric strategies, digital innovation, donor lifecycle management, and integrated supporter engagement. Provide input into annual operating plans, ensuring direct marketing plays a clear role in growing monthly and mid-level giving and supporting major and planned giving pipelines.(15%)

  • Foster an inclusive, people-first environment where all voices are welcome, motivating a diverse, high-performing team of professionals to excel with a strong commitment to continuous improvement, learning, change adoption, talent development, and results orientation-particularly within a remote and geographically distributed team.(10%)

  • Partner and collaborate with cross-functional leaders and key stakeholders globally, including affiliates, the Global Funding Network, and external agency partners, to balance competing priorities, align shared goals, and identify resourcing and engagement opportunities that advance Habitat's mission, priority programs, and transformation initiatives across the federated network. (15%)

  • Other duties as assigned.(5%)

RELATED EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in direct response fundraising, direct marketing, direct-to-consumer marketing, or comparable customer acquisition and retention disciplines.
