Job description

About the Role

You’re the person customers trust when precision equipment must run flawlessly. In this regional role, you’ll travel 20–30% across the U.S. to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair our systems on-site. You’ll work across hardware, software, and networking layers, minimizing downtime and ensuring every tool performs to spec.

What a Day Might Look Like
  • Arrive at a customer fab or service center, review overnight performance data, and prioritize scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and any urgent service calls.
  • Execute PMs independently, replace consumables, and complete start-ups or post-maintenance verifications.
  • Use operation manuals and service protocols to diagnose mechanical, hardware, software, or system-level issues—documenting findings in the customer’s systems with clear timestamps and justifications.
  • Coordinate parts: order and expedite replacements, and proactively notify the customer and management if a full unit swap is warranted.
  • Support phase-one installation of Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) tools (dock, level, and interconnect) under direction, preparing systems for safe power-on.
  • Advise customers on system operation and care, act as the primary contact for technical and service questions, and escalate design-related concerns to engineering when needed.
  • Guide fellow field technicians and field service engineers on complex procedures; mentor Field Service Technicians I–III.
  • Pitch in at the service center and jump to other customer sites as demand shifts.
Standards and Safety
  • Complete required Finesse training to accurately record parts usage and transactions.
  • Adhere to EBARA and customer safety requirements, including all mandatory safety training.
  • Keep work areas orderly and compliant with all site policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Background
  • Associate of Science in Electronics, completion of an accredited basic electronics program, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: 6–10 years of directly related experience, ideally in the semiconductor industry.
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude and familiarity with semiconductor and/or vacuum principles.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills and clear communication.
